Spotlight: Travel Nursing Assignment at a Historic Hospital in Boston, MA

A perennial “go to” favorite city for nurses is Boston, Massachusetts. It is especially popular for travel nurses who are looking not only for the experience of exploring a great city, but the clinical experience opportunity of working for some of the world’s most renowned hospitals found in the heart of the city like Boston.

Every travel assignment is an opportunity to experience something outside your norm. This week, we are putting the spotlight on travel nursing jobs at one of Boston’s historic hospitals.   Located in Boston’s South End, this facility with its current namesake has served its community since 1996, however; it is rooted as the first municipal hospital in the U.S. founded in 1864.   Today, this 514-bed hospital is the largest safety net hospital and Level I Trauma center in New England.

Currently, this hospital has several available travel nursing jobs in various units including the Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department, in the ICU, Interventional Radiology, Cath Lab, the OR and the Recovery units. The facility is also looking for several travel nurses with telemetry experience to help with staffing throughout and has just announced a $1,600 completion bonus for any telemetry certified nurse who can start a 13-week travel contract on the following orientation dates: Monday, July 19, 2021 or Monday, August 2, 2021.

Cath Lab Travel Jobs

Details: Looking for RN with at least 1 year Cath Lab experience.  Must have IABP intra procedure, Swan Ganz catheters, and Impella experience required.  RN must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry strips and pass Tele test on day 1 with 85% or better.   The unit would prefer someone with critical care, Level I Trauma, or Neuro experience.  The shifts available are a combination of 8s, 10s, and 12s with call requirements on off-shifts and weekends. On Call requirement: one night per week and one weekend per month. Holiday On Call – one major holiday. 

Estimated Weekly Pay: $4,125.00 | 40 hour work week

ER Travel Jobs

Details: Looking for Travel Nurse with at least 1.5 years recent Level I or II ED experience and/or 2+ years of recent Level III/IV ED experience. Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips and identify heart blocks REQUIRED. Must pass Tele test on day 1 with 85% or better.  The unit would prefer RN with EPIC charting experience as well as previous travel & critical care experience. Department consists of 70 treatment areas serving 350-440 patients per day.   RN can choose to work either 36 or 48 hours per week.

Details: Looking for RN  2+ years recent acute care experience, IMCU/Stepdown experience, auto med dispensing and more than 1 previous travel assignment. Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips.  RN will be required to take a telemetry and CC Med test on day 1.  Looking for Travel Nurse with Surgical Stepdown Tertiary facility experience. Unit sees post-operative patients requiring intermediate care transferred from PACU or SICU and incudes cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, trauma, and transplant patients.  38 beds with an average patient ratio of 1:3, 1:4 or 1:4-5 if MedSurg floor patients.

Details: Looking for PACU Travel Nurse with at least 2+ years’ experience.   RN must have strong PACU phase 1 recovery large complex cases neuro, thoracic, vascular, and ortho spine. RN is required to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips and identify heart blocks.   Facility Testing: must pass Tele test on day 1 with 85% or better.  Unit prefers RN with TNCC.  Shifts are 12’s starting at 6A for days and 9A for evenings – every 3rd weekend as needed, and every 3rd holiday as needed. No call and No Floating outside PACU or PreOp. Case types include Trauma, Pediatrics, Ortho, General. Average number of cases per day ranges from 18-30 and the unit is open 24/7, 7 days a week.

Tele Travel Jobs with Completion Bonus

Details: Looking for Tele Nurses with 2+ years of acute care experience and previous travel experience. Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips. Facility Testing: Tele test on day 1.  Ideally Travel RN has EPIC, Pyxis, Trauma Level I, Inner City experience (preferred). Unit: 37 bed with patient ratio generally 4-5:1 days/eves or 5-6:1 nights. Unit sees surgical services for MedSurg, Ortho, ENT, Gyn-surgical, oral surgical, and tele patients.  This is a fast-paced unit.  Shift: 36hr nights, every other weekend and holiday.   Must start on 7/19/2021 or 8/2/2021 to be eligible for completion bonus.
