For many travel nurses, the thought of being away on assignment for 13 weeks or more can be exciting for plenty of reasons. The first reason is an obvious one, a new location. Immersing yourself in a new environment is also known to refresh the mind and body, while also giving you the opportunity to learn and experience new cultures and people while still doing a job that makes a difference in that same community. If you’re a travel nurse who is into Medieval times, take a second to check out Chateau Laroche. The castle itself was built by its owner, Harry D. Andrews in 1929. While it’s not an authentic medieval fortress, it is modeled after one and Andrews was a huge medieval fanatic. Another ideal spot for history lovers to visit is Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park in Dayton, Ohio. This park/museum pays homage to the Wright Brothers and Paul Laurence Dunbar. There are five National Historic Landmarks as well as a Historic District located within this park, including Huffman Prairie Flying Field and Paul Laurence Dunbar’s house.
